What We Do
Quality Tool is an independent review site run by a two-person editorial team. We cover power tools, hand and mechanic tools, automotive equipment, home repair gear, and workshop storage for homeowners, DIYers, and people who maintain their own vehicles. Each guide takes one category, compares the current models on the same published criteria, and explains which product fits which kind of job.
We do not run a lab, and we do not claim to have used every product we rank. Our work is research: we read manufacturer spec sheets and manuals, check safety certifications and warranty terms, and look for patterns in verified owner feedback. Then we put the numbers into the same units so that torque, runtime, capacity, and price can be compared directly instead of through marketing copy.
Every guide is drafted by one editor and reviewed by the other before it publishes. Where the available information is not strong enough to support a confident recommendation, we say so rather than filling the gap with confident-sounding copy.
What We Stand For
Criteria before conclusions
We say what matters in a category before we rank anything in it, every product is judged on the same points, and every product gets its QT Score from the same published formula.
Same units, every product
Torque, power, runtime, capacity, and warranty length. Normalizing the numbers is what makes a comparison honest.
Two editors on every guide
One of us drafts, the other checks every spec, model number, and safety claim against the manufacturer's current listing before it publishes.
Limits named as such
Where a spec is unverified or owner feedback is thin, we say that in the guide instead of writing around it.

How We Make Money
Affiliate disclosureQuality Tool is reader-funded through affiliate commissions. When you buy through a link on this site we may earn a commission, paid by the retailer rather than by you, and it does not vary by brand or product.
No manufacturer pays for placement, a score, or a mention, and no brand sees a guide before it publishes. We do not accept sponsored reviews, free product in exchange for coverage, or paid inclusion in a comparison table. Where a product we rank highly has no affiliate program, it still gets ranked highly.

Everything on this site is educational. It is not professional, electrical, or structural advice, and it is not a substitute for the manufacturer's manual or your own judgment.
Power tools, jacks, compressors, generators, and electrical equipment can cause serious injury when misused. Read the manual, wear appropriate protective equipment, look for recognized safety certifications such as UL or ETL, and hire a licensed professional for wiring, gas, or structural work.
Corrections & Contact
Models get discontinued, specs get revised, and prices move daily. If you find a figure that no longer matches the current listing, tell us. We check it against the manufacturer's current spec sheet, fix it in place, and note substantial changes in the update line at the top of the guide. For anything else, the contact page has our details.
